Rotating Exhibits

The museum exhibits are continually created or revolved to correspond with current community interests and events.  Highlights include:

  • Visit our “Another Place, Another Time” Garden and Japanese American Internment Experience display & Memories come to life with pictures, declassified documents, hand-made items and a suitcase used to relocate a family.

  • Kent High School Band and Orchestra with instruments, pictures and music from the Roaring '20s.

  • The Evolution of Travel-Kent's continually changing modes of transportation.

  • Return to the days of the Covington Lumber Mill, circa 1908-the new Bereiter Mill Office display features period pieces circa 1900 that offer a glimpse into what the workplace may have looked like in the day.

  • Are you a Collector?  See our collection of Creamer Pitchers from all over the world dating as far back as 1880, or our toothpick holders that issue from the 1870s.

  • "Chicken Farming:  from hobby to big business" featuring Kent area chicken farming history, chicken rustling news from the 20s, and other chicken raising relics.

  • Also on display, "Sipe's Speedy Service-an early fuel trade" featuring the variety of energy resources offered, prices and artifacts from everyday business.

  • "School Days" featuring information on the growth of Kent's schools dating back to 1850, plus historic school furnishings and student gear from some of Kent's own residents.
